Plagwitz (German pronunciation: [ˈplaːkvɪts]) is a western locality of Leipzig in Saxony, Germany. It is part of the borough Südwest. The former village in Saxony, located 3 km (2 mi) west of Leipzig's city center, was granted the status of a rural municipality in 1839 and was attached to the city of Leipzig in 1891.
